Will blog for fuel!

Is this like "will work for food"? Something like that. I spent time in college wondering where late hours writing meaningless papers might take me. Why not to the fuel plank, er, I mean, station where I feed liquid gold into the belly of my car? Can writing a blog assist in counter-acting the excessive weight-loss of my wallet with each fill-'er-up visit?
I drive a wee car, a Subaru Impreza. Once upon a time, I praised her for her ability to impress upon her distant cousins, i.e. SUVs, that she was relatively unaffected by fuel costs due to her long-distance prowess and light-weight finesse. Alas, those gas-guzzling horse-cabooses now mock her as she swallows up in excess of the fifty dollars she once teased them about spending "back in the day" - you know, when gas was "cheap" at three dollars a gallon.
Sigh. Here I am, a frustrated American annoyed by articles stating that the Scandinavians spend more than double per gallon than we do here in the West. Yes, and tell me about their health care practices again? Yeah, that's what I thought. If I could take the money I have spent on my co-pay, my deductible, and minimal use of the health care system in the past year...I nod and purse my lips as I realize that I would have at least a year's worth of gas under my belt if it weren't for these exorbitant health care costs (how audacious of me to make this claim when I have health insurance and many of my American counterparts do not!)
This brings me back to my pathetic attempts to supplement my light-weight pocketbook with a little extra help by stringing together *hopefully interesting* blog-like sentences and ideas. I like the notion, I like the creative outlet, I like that it is not labor-intensive. What do I like best though? That I can do it at home and not drive anywhere.
